This year we challenged our LED driver with:
And honestly, it was not easy.
We tried many times.
When the surge level goes up, every detail of the driver matters — protection components, PCB layout, grounding, creepage and clearance, thermal design, and the coordination of the entire protection circuit. We thought the high-power 240W would be the most difficult, but it turned out to be the lowest power—75W; in the first two tests, it blew up in less than a minute.
Some versions passed.
Some failed.
We went back to the design, made improvements, and tested again.
Until we got PASS. ✅
For us, this isn't simply about adding “10 kV” to a datasheet. Or a simple promise to the customer.
It's about building an LED driver that can be more reliable in demanding outdoor lighting environments, where lightning-induced surges and unstable power conditions can be a real challenge.
Another difficult test completed.
Another step forward for our LED driver reliability.
